Select even size beets 4 c. white sugar
2 c. water 2 c. vinegar
Spice bag 1 Tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp all spice 1 tsp.cloves
Clean canning jars

Directions:
Directions:
Cook beets until tender let cool, peel & pack into jars. Boil for 10 min. sugar, water. vinegar & spice bag. Pouf boiling hot mixture over beets & seal. Process for 10 min in hot water bath, let stand in dry dark place for a couple of weeks. Enjoy!

You can use carrots if you like & add cinnamon sticks. Also you can save the syrup in refrigerator.
