Ingredients:  
c shortening
c butter
c sugar
c powdered sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
Cream all the above together

Add:
1 1/4 c flour
t. cream of tarter
t. salt
t. soda

Dough should be able to handle
-roll in desired ball size
- roll in sugar
-flatten down with hand and put on baking sheet
Bake 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes
Frost while still warm and sprinkle with colored sugar.
Usually always at least double this recipe.

c butter (room temperature)
1 t. vanilla
bag powdered sugar
half and half
Blend together. Add enough half and half to get to desired consistency.
