1 1/2 c. brown sugar
6 T. sour milk
3/4 t. vanilla
3/4 t. soda
3/4 c. melted shortening
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
3 c. oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ingredients in the order given.
Mix thoroughly.
Shape into small balls, about one inch in diameter.
Place on a greased cookie sheet.
Flatten each cookie to 1/8 inch thickness, by pressing with a wet spatula.
Bake at 375 for 10 - 12 minutes.
