1 cup chopped dates 1 cup chopped prunes 1/2 cup butter 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 tsp salt 2 tsp vanilla 1 cup raisins 2 cups boiling water 2 tsp baking soda 2 eggs 4 cups flour 1/2 cup nuts
Pour boiling water over fruit. Add butter and soda, stir and let cool. Mix sugar, eggs, salt, vanilla and flour. Add fruit mixture, add nuts and mix well. Bake in 2 greased and floured loaf pans at 350º. Can be frosted if desired.
