1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 tbsp. artificial sweetener
1 1/2 c. thick unsweetened applesauce
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp.salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. raisins

Directions:
Combine shortening, egg, buttermilk and sweetener. Add applesauce and sifted dry ingredients alternately. Add raisins. Mix well. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Bake 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees or until toothpick comes out clean.
