1 cup uncooked oats
1 1/3 cup boiling water
1/2 cup shortening or margarine
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 cup of white sugar
1 cup brown sugar firmly packed

Icing:
1/2 stick butter
1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup shredded Angel flake coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over oats let stand 20 minutes. Add sugar, eggs, and oats all together then add 1 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp soda, sift flour and spices together before adding the aboe ingredients. When added beat all together til well mixed. Bake in 11x9x2pan greased with butter. Bake at 350º til done.

Icing:
Let butter melt, add brown sugar, beat until smooth.Pour over while cake is still warm, then cover with pecans and coconut. Put under broiler and brown the coconut,
