1 1/2 cup of self rising flour
1 1/2 cup corn meal
1 egg
1 chopped onion
2 teaspoons sugar
salt and pepper to taste
Milk to mix mixture but dont make it too thick

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together. Put the spoon (teaspoon) into hot oil then in the mixture and drop hush puppies into hot oil (375º) Turn them around to get brown on both sides. When all sides are brown remove them and put them on paper towels to drain oil.

Got to have these when you eat fresh crappie. Mamaw always wanted the leftover hush puppies to eat with white beans.
