3/4 c. sliced almonds
2 c. flour
1 c sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
2 large eggs
1/2 c. butter, melted
1tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Spread almonds on a cookie sheet and bake 7 minutes at 350º. Cool.

Combine sugar, flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Stir in butter, eggs and vanilla until blended. Mixture will be crumbly. Stir in all of the nuts and knead the dough.

Divide dough in half. Roll each into a 13" X 1-1/2" size log. Bake on a cookie sheet bake for 30 minutes at 350º. Cool on a rack for 10 minutes. Cut logs diagonally into 1/2" slices with a serrated knife. Arrange cookies cut side down on a cookie sheet and bake each side for 5-6 minutes at 350º until golden.
