In a pan:
1 c. raisins
1-1/2 c. water

In a mixing bowl:
1-1/2 c. sugar (I like to use brown sugar)
1 c. butter
2 eggs
2-1/2 c. Quick cooking oatmeal
1 tsp. salt
1-1/2 tsp. allspice
1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1-1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Add the raisins and water n a pan and boil gently until raisins plump. Stir the baking soda into the hot water/raisins. Set aside.

Blend butter and sugar. Add eggs, mix well. Add in remaining dry ingredients. Mix in the hot water/raisin mixture last. Bake at 375º for 12 - 15 minutes.
