Personal
Notes: I learned this recipe when I was five years old from my Grandma Elliott. My Grandma said the pinch of cinnamon was the secret ingredient and also to dissolve the soda in hot water in the cookie batter. We lived on a potato farm and when the employees would go by (which was often when they smelled the cookies baking) Grandma would see them and invite them in for cookies and coffee which she would always have brewing on the stove any time of day. They sure appreciated it and so did all of our family and anyone that ever ate her cookies. They are terrific. I have many fond memories about my. Grandmother teaching me how to bake and cook.
