2 cups of red kidney beans cooked
1 lb. of pork ham bone (optional)
2 cups of water
1 small red onion cut in quarters
1 cube of chicken bullion
1 tsp of fresh parsley chopped
1 tsp of fresh cilantro chopped
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp chopped garlic
1 pinch oregano
salt

2 tazas de habichuelas rojas hervidas
1 lb. de huesos de chuletas de cerdo (opcional)
2 tazas de agua
1 cebolla roja pequeña cortada en cuatro cuartos
1 cubo de caldo de pollo
1 cucharadita de perejil picado
1 cucharadita de cilantro picado
2 cucharadas de pasta de tomate
1 cucharada de aceite
1/2 cucharadita de ajo triturado
1 pizca de orégano

Directions:
Heat 3 tbsp of oil, add the ham bone and sautee for a minute. Add the oregano, onion, tomato paste, garlic and the rest of the spices. Stir and add two tablespoons water. Reduce the water and add the chicken bullion. Add the beans and three cups of water, stirring frequently so it won't stick to the bottom. Add mor water if needed until it gets a creamy consistency.

Calienta 3 cucharadas de aceite, agrega los huesos de chuleta y sofríe por un rato. Agrega el orégano, la cebolla, la pasta de tomates, el ajo y las hierbas. Revuelve y agrega dos cucharadas de agua. Cuando el agua casi se ha evaporado agrega el cubito de caldo de pollo. Agrega las habichuelas y tres tazas de agua, revuelve regularmente para evitar que se queme en el fondo ajusta el agua hasta que alcanze una consistencia cremosa.

Add more or less salt to taste. Serve with white rice (see recipe), salad and meat or chicken or with avocado slices and fried ripe plantains...mmm...even better!

Ajusta la sal al gusto. Sirva con arroz blanco (ver receta), ensalada y carne o con aguacate o fritos maduros... mmm...mejor todavia!
