Sift together: 2 and 1/2 cups sifted flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ginger Cream: 1/3 cup shortening 1/2 cup sugar Add: 1 egg, well beaten 3/4 cup molasses Mix well. Add dry ingredients alternately with 2/3 cup milk. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.
