1 lb ground beef
1 16oz can diced tomatoes
2 med onions, chopped
2 med carrots, sliced
2 stalks celery, chopped
1/3 c pearl barley
1/4 c ketchup
1 tbsp instant beef bouillion granules
2 tsp seasoned salt
1 tsp basil, crushed
1 bay leaf

Directions:
In a large pan cook ground beef until brown. Drain. Stir in remaining ingredients and add 5 cups of water. bring to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Season to taste with salt & pepper. Remove bay leaf. Serve.
