Directions:
Remove brown crusty skin from cake. Tear into small pieces.
Place on bowl and sprinkle with Rum or Cointreau. Let set.
Over medium just melt chocolate chips. Add a dash of salt
and 1 tsp. vanilla. Remove from heat and beat in eggs one at
a time until thoroughly mixed. Beat 1 pint whip cream. Fold
chocolate mixture into cream. Grease angel cake pan (tube
pan) and layer chocolate mixture and cake pieces into pan
until pan is nearly full. Refrigerate (30 min. or more). Remove
from pan and frost with remaining cream. When whipping
cream add sugar to taste. Garnish with slivered almonds. (A
fun idea is to color frosting whipped cream for special
occasions)
