2 3/4 cups sifter flour
2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2/3 cup shortening
1 lb. brown sugar
2 or 3 eggs
1 pkg. chocolate bits
1 cup nuts
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, flour, salt, baking powder. Beat eggs, add chocolate bits and then add to mixture (by hand). Spread thinly in shallow baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

This recipe comes from Dot Gosney Wymore, in her handwriting and passed on to my mother and now to me. These were a staple of our family at Christmas time for many years.
