Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/3 C shortening
1 3/4 C flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 C milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cut shortening into flour, baking powder and salt with pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles crumbs. Stir in just enough milk so the dough leaves the side of the bowl and rounds up into a ball (too much milk makes dough sticky and not enough makes biscuits dry--use the whole 3/4C).

Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead about 10 times. Roll or press out dough until it's about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into shapes, using floured cutter, and place on cookie sheet. If you want soft biscuits, make sure they're touching. If not, place them about 1/2 inch apart. Bake at 450º for 10-12 minutes.
