1 1/4 C flour
1 C brown sugar
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1/2 C margarine or butter
1 t vanilla
1 egg
1 C oatmeal
1/2 C choc chips
1/4 C chopped nuts or sunflower seeds


1 of the following:
1/2 C peanut butter
1/2 C coconut
1/2 C wheat germ
1/2 C nonfat dry milk

Directions:

Combine the flour, sugar, soda, salt, shortening, vanilla and egg. Mix well. Add the oatmeal, choc chips, and nuts. Then add one of the other 4 ingredients. The dough will be stiff. Press into a greased 9 X 13 pan.

Bake for 15 - 20 minutes at 375.

This is a great recipe. It can be different every time you make it. My favorite is with the nonfat dry milk. Makes the bars rich tasting. You can also put more than one of the last 4 ingredients. You may need to add a bit of liquid if it gets too thick. Very fast and easy.
