2 medium, ripe avocados
2 T. minced onion
1 medium garlic clove, minced
1 small jalapeņo chile, stemmed, seeded, and minced
1/4 c. minced fresh cilantro leaves
1/4 tsp.salt
1/2 tsp. ground cumin (optional)
2 T. juice from 1 lime

Directions:

Mash 1 avocado in a medium bowl. Mash the the flesh lightly with the onion, garlic, chili, cilantro, salt, and cumin with the tines of the fork until just combined.

Halve, pit and cube the remaining 2 avocados and add to the above mixture.

Sprinkle lime juice over the diced avocado and mix the entire contents of the bowl lightly with a fork until combined but still chunky.
