1 package frozen hash browns (Southern style work best) - not necessary to defrost
1/2 t. salt
pepper
onion ( dehydrated or sautéed)
2 cans cream of chicken soup
2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 c. sour cream
1/4 to 1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/2 c. melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except for bread crumbs and melted butter and put in 9 x 13 pan. Bake, covered , for 40 min. at 350º. Mix together bread crumbs and melted butter and sprinkle on top. Bake an additional 40 min at 350º, uncovered.
