2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp.salt, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 3/4 cup orange juice, 1 T. grated orange peel, 2 T. shortening, 1 egg well beaten, 1 6 ounce package sweetened dried craisins, 1/2 cup chopped nuts.

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda in a medium mixing bowl. Stir in orange juice, orange peel, shortening and egg. Stir well. Stir in dried cranberries and nuts. Spread evenly in loaf pan. Bake for 55 min. or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for fifteen minutes, remove from pan.
