1/2 c. shorting
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c.brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. coconut

Cream shorting, egg,sugars and vanilla. Blend dry ingredients and mix with creamed mixture. Mix well and add coconut and oatmeal last. Drop by tsp. and Bake 375 for 10 min. DO NOT OVERBAKE.
