2 2/3 cups sugar
3 1/3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp ground cloves
2/3 cup salad oil
4 eggs
3 cups pumpkin pie mix
2/3 cup water

Mix all of the above ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350º for 1 hour. Test by inserting straw in loaf. If it doesn't come out clean lower the temp to 325º and cook slightly longer.

This is the best pumpkin bread I have ever tasted. It was a family favorite.

My father-in-law "Pops", would make each of us a loaf or two every winter. It was not hard for us to convince him to make extra and we would freeze them ... putting them away for later.

Timmy and Tim both loved them warmed with a bit of butter for breakfast. If you try this recipe, I hope it becomes a favorite of your family, too.
