1 small head lettuce (slivered)
1/2 cup celery (chopped)
1/2 cup green pepper (chopped)
1/2 cup onion (chopped)
1 pkg frozen English peas (10 oz) do not cook
1 T sugar (sprinkle over peas)
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise or
3/4 cup mayonnaise plus
3/4 cup sour cream
8 slices bacon (fried crisp)
1/4 -1/2 Ib cheddar cheese (grated)

Directions:
Directions:
Layer lettuce, celery, green pepper, onion and peas. Spread mayonnaise over salad and seal tightly to keep lettuce crisp. Store in refrigerator overnight. Before serving: Spread over top with grated cheddar cheese. Crumble bacon over top.
