2 cups Sugar
1 cup Shortening
3 eggs
1 cup Sour cream
2 teaspoons Vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
5 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Add sour cream and vanilla then dry ingredients.
Use large cookie cutter for outside and smaller cutter for inside to make hole in each cookie. Put cookies on well greased cookie sheet. Place lifesaver or other hard candy in center. Bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes. let sit 5 minutes then remove from pan.
