1/2 cup liquid shortening
1 1/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup molasses
2 cups oatmeal
2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup nuts
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt, soda, baking powder and cinnamon. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and molasses. Add all other ingredients. Roll into balls then roll in sugar. Bake on cookie sheet 2 inches apart at 350º for approx. 10 - 12 minutes. Watch closely as they brown fast. Will feel soft to touch when done.
