1/2 cup liquid shortening
1 1/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup molasses
2 cups oatmeal
2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup nuts
1 cup raisins

Sift flour, salt, soda, baking powder and cinnamon. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and molasses. Add all other ingredients. Roll into balls then roll in sugar. Bake on cookie sheet 2 inches apart at 350 for approx. 10 - 12 minutes. Watch closely as they brown fast. Will feel soft to touch when done.
