5 or 6 medium turnips
1 cup water
salt and pepper to taste
sugar to taste
2-3 Tbsps. butter or bacon drippings

Directions:
Directions:
Wash, peel and cut turnips int slices. Put in covered sauce pan with water; cook over low heat until tender. Add seasonings and butter or bacon drippings ; simmer 5 to 10 minutes. Serve hot.
