8 oz. crystalized cherries
8 oz. crystalized pineapple (cut each slice 4 times)
8 oz. pitted dates (cut in half)
1 quart nuts (uncut)
1 cup sugar
1 cup plain flour
1 rounded teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
4 eggs
1/8 tsp. salt (dash)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º. Put pineapple, cherries, dates and nuts in a large bowl. Sift over the above with flour, sugar and salt. Mix this well, dredging the flour into the nuts and fruit. Beat the eggs and add along with the vanilla. Put into a lined-well greased and floured tube pan and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Then place a pan with water beneath the cake for 15 more minutes. Total of 1 hour 45 minutes.
