2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 tsp. baking soda (scant)
6 Tbsp. sweet milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup shortening
1 cup dates or nuts of half of each
1/2 cup molasses
4-1/4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs, molasses, milk and vanilla. Sift flour and soda and add. Then add dates and nuts. Drop and bake at 350 until golden brown.
