3/4 c. lukewarm milk
1/4 c. warm water
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. shortening
3 1/2 to 3 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
In bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Measure flour by dip level pour method. Add milk, sugar, egg, shortening and half of flour to yeast mixture. Mix with spoon until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to handle dough easily. Turn onto lighltly floured area and knead dough until smooth, about 5 minutes. Round dough up onto a greased bowl, bringing greased side up. Cover with a cloth. Let rise in warm place until dough doubles in size, about 1 1/2 hours. Knead dough and make into rolls. Put on cookie sheet. Let rolls rise 30 minutes or until ready to cook, then brush lightly with melted butter. Make at 375º until done.
