1 lb. bulk sausage
1 c. diced bacon
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 lb. sliced mushrooms
2 apples, peeled, cored and diced
1 c. celery, diced
1 c. chopped parsley
1 tsp. sage
1 tsp. thyme
2 c. chicken broth
1 loaf white bread, cut into cubes

Fry sausage with bacon until browned. Drain. Transfer to a bowl. Remove excess fat from pan. Return meat to pan. Add onion, mushrooms, apples, parsley, and herbs. Saute, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Stir in bread and broth. If pan is too small the mixture may be transferred to a large bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Pour into large casserole pan and bake in a preheated 350 oven for 45-60 minutes.
