2c flour
1c sugar
1 1/2t baking powder
1t salt
1/2t baking soda
3/4c orange juice
2T shortening
1T grated orange peel
1 egg, well beaten
1 1/2c fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/2c chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a medium mixing bowl. Stir in orange juice, shortening, orange peel, and egg. Mix until well blended. Stir in cranberries and nuts. Spread evenly in loaf pan. Bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on rack for 15 minutes. Removed from pan; cool comepletely
