1 stick butter,
1 c sugar,
1 15oz jar of applesauce,
2 c flour,
1 tsp cinnamon,
1 tsp nutmeg,
1/2 tsp ground cloves,
1/2 tsp allspice,
1/4 tsp ground ginger,
1 tsp baking soda,
1 tsp salt,
1 c raisins,
1 c currants
1/2 c chopped nuts,
2 tsp vanilla,

mix butter, sugar and applesauce.. heat till butter melts. remove from heat...add flour, cinnamon, cloves, allspice,ginger, baking soda and salt...then add raisins, nuts, and vanilla. grease and line a 4x15 pan with "waxed" paper. bake at 350 for 1 hour.

can also add a thin coat of icing. if desired. just use a little confectioner sugar, and milk
