1/3 c. (2/3 stick) butter or margarine (softened)
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. solid packed pumpkin
1 egg
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 c. dried currants
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions:

Using electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until light; add pumpkin and egg, mixing well. In medium bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, baking powder, ginger, allspice, and nutmeg; gradually add to butter mixture, mixing until well blended. Stir in currants and pecans. Pour batter into greased 8 x 4-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until wooden pick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 15 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.
