½ cube butter melted
1 tsp. garlic powder

First prepare artichokes by cutting in half and shortening the stems to about 1''then cut about 1'' off the top so top leaves are no longer pointed. The artichokes will tehn be ready to steam tell soft (about ½ an hour). Once steamed cool with water and strip the hard bottom leaves and scrape off the hard covering of the artichoke stem. Flip to open side and scoop out artichoke fibers. Combine garlic powder and butter for basting mixture. Grill at 325 flat side down tell you have good grill marks then flip and baist with garlic butter mixture and cook tell good grill marks apear on rounded side then flip again and baist with the rest of the butter garlic mixture. Serve with mayonase pest mixture made by combining mayonaise and pesto to desied taste. Eat by dipping artichoke leaves in mixture and scraping the bottom with your teeth.
