3 to 3 1/2 lbs pork country-style ribs, cut crosswise in half then into 2 rib portions
1 C Ketchup
1/2 C onion, finely chopped
1/4 C brown sugar, packed
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp liquid smoke
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp bottled hot pepper sauce

Preheat broiler. Place ribs on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 6 inches from heat until brown, about 10 minutes, turning once. Transfer to a 3 1/2 to 4 qt slow cooker. In a small bowl combine the remaining ingredients. Pour sauce over ribs, turning to coat. Put in a slow cooker, cover; cook on low heat setting for 10 to 12 hours or on high heat setting for 5 to 6 hours. Transfer ribs to a platter; pour sauce into a medium saucepan. Simmer sauce till reduced and thickened, Pass sauce with ribs.
