2 sweet vidalia onions, sliced
1 garlic clove, chopped (optional)
5 large carrots, chopped (optional)
8 oz fresh mushrooms (optional)
1 beef brisket (about 3 lbs), trimmed
1 packet (1 oz) dry onion soup mix
1 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 cups Heinz ketchup
1 (12 oz) can Coca Cola
a few splashes of worcestershire

Directions:
Directions:
Line your slow cooker with a disposable slow cooker liner.
Place onions and garlic in bottom of slow cooker. Season brisket with pepper and soup mix. Place on top of onions. Add carrots and mushrooms. Combine ketchup, worcestershire and coca cola pour over brisket. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hrs.
Remove brisket to cutting board and allow to cool 10 mins. Slice against the grain. Serve with cheese grits and collard greens.
