Vanilla ice cream
Root beer or coke, ice cold

Scoop ice cream into tall glasses. Pour root beer or coke over ice cream. Stir slightly and serve with a straw.

This was one of Doc and Dear's (mother and daddy's) favorite "desserts." They used Coca Cola, but I think the classic soda for "Black Cow" is root beer.
