2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
½ c sugar
2 c sifted flour
1 ¼ c ground almonds
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp almond extract
½ tsp salt
Powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar with mixer till light and fluffy. Beat in ½ cup flour at a time. Add almonds, extracts and salt, continuing to beat till mixture becomes slightly stiff dough. Shape dough into a ball, cover with plastic wrap or waxed paper and refrigerate approx. 1 hr. Preheat oven to 350° Lightly butter two cookie sheets. Pinch off walnut-sized pieces of dough & form into 2-inch strips. Shape into crescent, arrange on sheet ½ inch apart. Bake 15-20 minutes or till light brown. Remove from oven, allow to cool on sheet about 5 minutes. Transfer to cooling rack & dust with powdered sugar. Allow cooling before handling.
