1½ c flour
½ c unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp soda
¼ tsp baking powder
½ c butter or margarine
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 ½ tsp vanilla
Drain 1 large jar of maraschino cherries, reserving juice

Combine dry ingredients. Combine in separate bowl with an electric mixer the last four ingredients. Combine 1 c (6 oz.) chocolate chips & ½ cup. sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand) over very low heat, until chocolate chips are melted. Spoon in 4 tsp cherry juice. Roll cookie dough into 1-inch balls & place on un-greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. With your thumb, make an impression (dent) in the middle of each cookie. Place a cherry in each hole. Spoon approximately 1 tsp of frosting over each cookie, being sure to entirely cover the cherry. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10–11 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.
