PUDDING CAKE:
2 T. butter/margarine
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 T. unsweetened cocoa
SAUCE:
1 T. flour
1 T. butter
1 c. hot water
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

Directions:

CAKE: Cream the first 3 ingredients. Alternate the milk and dry ingredients when adding to the creamed mixture.
Bake in greased tube or loaf pan at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
SAUCE: Melt butter and mix in flour until smooth. Add hot water slowly --- stir and boil until thick. Add sugar and vanilla. Beat egg --- pour hot mixture into it slowly while beating.
Spoon the sauce over each slice of cake and serve.
