1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
6 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Add yeast to warm water and set aside. In a separate bowl, add baking soda to buttermilk. In a third bowl mix the remaining dry ingredients and the shortening. Pour in the buttermilk mix and the yeast and blend all together. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours, at least. Knead on floured board 12 times. Roll out to a thickness of 1/2 inch and cut like biscuits. Place on a greased pan and let rise for an additional hour. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and bake for 15 minutes.
