"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1-3/4 cup hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and 3 Tbsp. cocoa into bowl. Add milk, vanilla, and melted butter, and mix until smooth. Stir in nuts. Pour into a greased 8" square pan. Mix brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa and sprinkle over surface of batter. Pour hot water evenly over the top. DO NOT STIR THIS IN. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. When it's done, the top is like a pan of brownies--but, surprise! There's chocolate syrup underneath. This is most excellent with vanilla
ice cream and a walk after dinner.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe is what my kids and I bring out when we're having a party and really feeling decadent (and don't mind being kept awake). This recipe is rather small so when it's a big celebration we triple or even quadruple it. It's similar to the Pudd'n' Cake that some of us (of a certain age) may remember.
