1 1/2 C. oil
1/2 tsp. salt
2 C. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs beaten
3 C. fresh apples (diced)
3 C. flour
1 C. nuts (chopped)
1 1/2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. vanilla

Mix apples, sugar, eggs and oil; add flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Mix well and stir in nuts and vanilla. Bake in 9 X 13 pan at 325 degrees about 1 hour.
Topping: Mix in saucepan 1 C. brown sugar, 3 T. flour, add 3/4 c. water. Cook until thick. Add 2 tsp. vanilla and a lump of butter. Spread over cooled cake.
