1 stick butter
1/2 cup oil
1 cup water
4 Tbsp. cocoa
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
pinch salt
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour milk

Directions:
Directions:
1 stick butter, 1/2 cup oil, 1 cup water, 4 Tbsp. cocoa. Boil 1 minute and let cool
Mix together.
2 eggs, beaten, 1/2 cup sour milk
Add to dry ingredients.
Add cocoa mixture to above and pour into greased and floured pan. (9x13 is a little too big.) Bake at 350º for 40 minutes.

Personal Notes:
This is Aunt Mildred’s recipe but I usually make it a little bit differently. I add about 1/4 cup oil extra to make the cake more moist and use rounded soup spoons of cocoa instead of tablespoons. I do not pre-sift the flour, and I leave out the salt. I also use a rounded teaspoon of cinnamon. Finally, I use a 2-qt. baking dish instead of a 9x13 pan and change the temp to 325º F.
