Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe was in Mother's files. This is a perfect barbecue sauce for chicken, but it's good on everything. My family knew him as Jack, but the Florida crowd called him Percy. Both Jack and his wife Vera were good cooks who enjoyed food and life. I spent a summer with them traveling cross country in their Airstream trailer, visiting Yellowstone, Orcas Island, Washington, the Columbia River Valley, Victoria, British Columbia. down the California coast, then back across the southwest and southeast. I can attest to their good cooking. Jack also used this sauce to make "Shamburgers" (browned hamburger mixed with this BBQ sauce, served on buns.) He should have marketed it before "Manwich" hit the stores!
