4 heaping cups flour 2 tsps. salt
2 tsps. baking soda 1 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar 1 cup hot water
1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sour milk or 1 tbsp vinegar added to 1 cup milk 2 eggs
1 tsp. genuine vanilla or 2 tsps. imitation vanilla

Filling:
6 tbps. fluff 4 tbsps. vanilla
4 tbsps. flour 4 tbsps. milk
4 cups confec. sugar 1 1/2 cups shortening

Directions:

Mix together shortening, butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix together dry ingredients and set aside. Add milk, cocoa and hot water to shortening mixture.Then, add to dry mixture. Scoop large, rounded spoonfuls of batter onto greased cookie sheets and spread at least 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.

Filling:
Put all ingredients together in a bowl and beat until smooth. Then place scoop of filling between 2 cakes.
