Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2/3 cup of shortening (I always use butter)
3/4 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
4 teaspoons milk
2 cups of sifted flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:
I always make the dough into 2 balls, wrap them in plastic and chill in the refrigerator. When cutting shapes, gather up scraps, make them into a ball and chill in fridge again. You can roll out this little ball again.

When rolling out, flour the surface and rolling pin. You will have to do this several times because dough is very soft & you will have difficulty putting shapes on pan, they will tear. Maybe you could try rolling them directly onto a floured, flat cookie sheet if you have one.

This is difficult dough to work with - roll it as thinly as you can but don't sweat it.

Oven 375 but watch carefully - don't let the cookies brown - just the edges.
When taking them out of the oven, wait a couple of minutes before removing them from the pan. They will be soft.

My advice is to experiment with 2 or 3 until you get the temp. right and the texture.
