1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Churro Coating:
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 package (about 40) Saltine crackers
Optional Toppings:
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Chopped nuts (e.g., pecans or almonds)
Substitutions:
Dairy-Free Option: Use vegan butter and dairy-free chocolate chips.
Gluten-Free Option: Substitute Saltine crackers with gluten-free crackers.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Arrange the Saltine Crackers: Lay crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Make the Toffee: Melt butter in a saucepan, then stir in brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Boil for 3 minutes.
Pour the Toffee: Pour the hot toffee over the crackers.
Bake the Toffee: Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
Prepare Churro Coating: Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
Sprinkle Coating: Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar over the hot toffee.
Add Optional Toppings: Drizzle melted chocolate over the top and sprinkle with nuts if desired.
Cool and Break Apart: Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
