1 lb ground beef

1 (16 oz) box elbow macaroni

1-2 cans (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

Salt and pepper to taste

1–2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)

1 sleeve Townhouse crackers (crushed)

Optional: ½ cup milk (to thin the soup slightly, if desired)

Optional: 1 tbsp butter (for topping)

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

-Cook the pasta, Drain and set aside.

-In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.

-Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Mix the casserole:

-In a large mixing bowl (or directly in the pot if big enough), combine the cooked beef, drained pasta, cream of mushroom soup, and 1 to 1½ cups of shredded cheese.

Add a splash of milk if the mixture seems too thick.

Assemble:

-Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 baking dish.

Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the top.

Crush the Townhouse crackers and spread evenly over the cheese.

Dot the top with a few small pats of butter


Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until hot and bubbly and the crackers are golden brown.
