8 cups sugar
2 cups vinegar
2 cups water
1½ tsp. vanilla

Butter for platters and hands.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all but vanillia and cook to 286º on candy thermometer.

Remove from heat and pour into well buttered platters.

Cool enough to handle.

Dip hands in butter and start pulling.

Keep your hands well buttered.

Have someone to add Vanilla while pulling.

When you can't pull any longer stretch it out on wax paper.

Let set for awhile then break into pieces.

Tip: if you want holes through it, be sure and pull it straight and don't twist it as you pull.
